A couple of nuts

WOW....2012

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here I am another year has gone by, I sat down yesterday and made some decisions.  Setting new goals and returning to some that I've set last year, but didn't live up to.  Woke up this morning, and I'm already out of energy just thinking about it.

Need to lose some weight....hup

Need to exercise more.....hup

Need to spend my time more wisely....hup

Need to paint more often....hup

Need to focus and make priorites....hup

Etc....hup

I received a Christmas present from one of my co-workers...and I just think the mug is the cutest and I love the little statement on it.  Hey, I'm drawn to ceramics...pots, vases, mugs anything, well, actually I'm drawn to anything that has visual appeal.  It appeals to me!  So, I painted a little painting of it today.

I wasn't able to match the color of the mug in paint.  It really is a very pretty red-purple.

The mug was full of chocolates, marshmallows and cocoa mix.  Needless to say, the chocolates didn't have a chance.  I devoured them "tout sweet".

This is the wordage on the mug....

Good friends are like bras, supportive, never leave you
hanging, make you look good and are always close to
     your heart

Nicely put!

Title of painting  "A Cup-ful of Nuts"  10" x 8" acrylic on a canvas board

Don't know if I'll do a few more paintings of mugs.  I do have some that I am quite fond of....perhaps.  If I do, I don't think that I'll use white as a background again.  I think it dulls up the painting.

My son requested a painting of an elephant for Christmas this past year.  I've never painted one before.  It was a bit of a challenge.  I used a grid system in order to draw the elephant correctly.

Bottom line, my son liked the painting.  I didn't sign it until he gave the okay on it.  He wanted a large painting, the size of a wall....not happening!

As it was, I thought that the painting was large enough to be a challenge

so this is Jacob's painting....

No title really, it is 30" x 18" and I am sure glad that he likes it!
