Good day to paint

"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence
comes my help.  My help comes from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth."  Psalms 121:1-2

Untitled landscape with hills,     6" x 6"
     acrylic on canvas

Still playing with abstraction, but not so much in this
painting as I would like.  Repeated colors of blues/
purples and yellows/brown-reds.  The eye leaps from hill to hill.

Trying to paint an abstract is not as easy as I thought
it would be.  This turned out to be a mixture of realistic and an attempt at abstracting the forground rocks.  Not quite a successful attempt.  I liked both
parts, and couldn't let go of the one in favor of the other.  So here I am.

"Untitled seascape with orange rocks"
       6" x 6" acrylic on canvas

"Taking It Easy"
      8" x 8" acrylic on canvas

A young lady is cooling her feet in the water at Blue Hole Springs Park, FL.  The water is so clear.  I could have painted the background all the same color.  It's been a hot summer in Florida, and the springs are a refreshing 72 degrees year round.  The springs are good, crowded, and popular sites to find relief from the intense heat.

Hi, welcome to my blog

Blogging is all new to me.  This is a whole new world for me, and kind of scary.

I'm a painter, a full time employee, a wife, mother, and a lover of God.

As a painter, I truly enjoy painting people.  It is my favorite subject; however, I paint landscapes, interiors, and of late slightly abstracted landscapes.  I've posted two of my recent small paintings.

These two paintings only 6 x 6 inches, allows me a
freedom to be loose and more expressive....

plus its lots of fun

the medium is acrylic painted on canvas

hope that you enjoy them, I do
I like these intense colors!
